Parmesan and Garlic Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipe

Toss party wings in olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. These wings are crispy and super flavorful. They pair well with a bitter IPA.

Parmesan and Garlic Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipe

Parmesan and garlic wings are my second favourite chicken wing, after the buffalo wing. This recipe is also a good match for my dry rub wings. This recipe is easy to make in the air fryer—salt, pepper and olive oil. Garlic powder is also included. They are crispy and super flavorful and go well with a bitter IPA.

Air fryer wings have been my favourite thing for the last few months. This is a quick and easy way to achieve the crispy texture you love without deep-frying. It’s also healthier than roasted wings because the fat melts and collects in the bottom of your fryer. I won’t be returning to the oven anytime soon.

How to make Chicken Wings in an air fryer?

After coating your wings with garlic and parmesan cheese and placing them in an oven at 375F, cook for 20-25 minutes or until crisp outside. The chicken’s internal temperature is 165F. Always keep a digital thermometer in your clutch.

This technique works with any chicken wing recipe. I suggest prepping your wings with olive oil and salt for buffalo or BBQ sauces. First, air fries the wings and add your sauce before serving. This will prevent any mess and make for more delicious wings. Make sure that the sauce is cool!

How many Wings can I cook at once?

In a 4-quart air fryer, I could cook 2 pounds of wings in 20 minutes. To ensure a perfectly cooked exterior, flip/toss the wings about every five minutes. This is particularly important if you are cooking multiple layers of wings. Two layers of wings are required for a two-lb chicken.

Instructions to Cook

Toss party wings in olive oil, salt, pepper, and grated parmesan cheese. These wings are crispy and super flavorful. They pair well with a bitter IPA.

  1. 1 1/2 to 2 pounds chicken party wings (wingette & drummette separately)
  2. 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  3. 2 tablespoons olive oils
  4. 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  5. Salt and pepper to taste
  6. Optional minced parsley garnish
  7. Optional sliced carrots, celery and ranch dressing for dip
  8. Toss the wings in oil—season generously with salt. Toss in garlic powder and parmesan cheese.
  9. Place wings in a 4-5 quart oven fryer. For 22 to 26 minutes at 375F, fry the wings in an air fryer.
  10. To ensure even cooking, toss the wings once every five minutes.
  11. After removing the wings from the fryer, please remove them and sprinkle them with some extra parmesan cheese or parsley.
  12. Serve immediately with ranch dressing.

Cooking wings that weigh more than 3 pounds may take up to 30 minutes, depending on how large your air fryer is. Refrain from filling.

It would help if you chose finely grated parmesan and not coarsely grated. It will stick better.

This technique works with any wing recipe. I suggest prepping your wings with olive oil and salt for sauces like buffalo sauce. First, air fry the wings and then add buffalo sauce/whatever other sauce just before you serve. This will prevent any mess and make for better-tasting wings.
