Dry Rub Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipe

I recently bought an air fryer, which is already being used greatly. The crispy exterior of chicken wings cooked in an air fryer produces amazing results. This texture can only be achieved by deep frying or air-frying. Air frying is healthier than deep-frying and requires less cleanup. It’s also much easier to do and takes much less time.

This healthy alternative to frying does not sacrifice flavor.

How to air fry chicken wings?

A simple dry rub is used to coat my wings. It consists of onion powder, garlic powder, brown sugar and salt. After the wings have been tossed in olive oil, they are coated with a dry rub. This rub is simple, yet it adds so much flavor. It gives you crispy skin.

Place the wings in an air fryer at 350F. Cook for 20-25 minutes, until crisp on the outside and cooked through in the middle (165F for chicken). Check out my parmesan and garlic air fryer wings!

How many wings can I cook at once?

In a 4-quart air fryer, I could fry 1 1/2 lb of wings in 20 minutes. Although you can fit 2-3 pounds of wings in a 4-quart air fryer, they may take up to 30 minutes to cook fully.

To ensure a uniformly cooked exterior, flip or toss the wings several times during frying. This is particularly important if you are cooking multiple layers of wings.

What about Buffalo Wings?

You can still fry your buffalo wings in an oven. I suggest prepping your wings with olive oil and salt for sauces like buffalo sauce. First, air fries the wings and then add buffalo sauce/any other sauce just before you serve. This will prevent any mess and make for more delicious wings. This works well for honey buffalo, teriyaki or bbq wings.
